Life is full of opportunities to step outside out comfort zones, but grabbing them can seem difficult.
As human beings, we've elevated to crave comfort and settle for what we know. Our comfortable zone however, is not where business/life-changing shifts are made.
What holds us back most of the time is our frame of mind. In order to do that, we have to get very comfortable being uncomfortable.
And I did just that!
Last week I shifted my thinking required to step outside of my comfort zone and into personal growth with being a guest on the Moon Logic podcast hosted by my beautiful confidant and friend, Kady Romangnuolo.
Discomfort is where we grow. It is where we build confidence, and discomfort is a tool at our disposal that we can use to take action on the things that we are scared to do.
Let's face it, if we want to be successful, chances are we are going to have to jump before we are ready, and push ourselves into place you never thought we would end up, and all of it will build self-trust, confidence and resilience that will prepare us for repeated trips to uncomfortable places.
Real estate professionals have multiple comfort zones that they need to confront on a daily basis. Think back to the last time a buyer asked you to show a property on your day off. Did you agree to do it? If so, you may be operating in your comfort zone!
How about making a commitment to yourself to start a video and than had excuses for yourself? Lack-of-time, bad lighting, I need to do my hair and make-up? If so, you may be operating in your comfort zone!
This is a very powerful image. It is so easy to live our lives and conduct our business in our comfort zones. In fact, our brains trick us into maintaining the comfort zone at every turn.
Take a moment and think about your business. What are the things in your comfort zone that are holding you back?
When you get into your growth zone and make positive changes, you will undoubtedly naturally grow.
Here’s how to avoid getting comfortable as a real estate professional.
• Always create reach goals. Reach goals keep you focused on the future. Create goals that are achievable, but not without putting in the work. When you accomplish one goal, focus on what’s next.
• Try new things. To get out of your comfort zone, you need to do things you’ve never done before. Try something new with every opportunity, even if it’s something entirely different. Introducing yourself to new things can spark new ideas.
• Meet new people. Put yourself out there to meet new people. Meet the people in your space, in your city or even in an entirely different industry. By getting out there and introducing yourself to other entrepreneurs, you can channel some of their energy to keep moving forward.
Avoid another day to go by in your business in the comfort zone. Take care and get uncomfortable. I can tell you, its worth it!!
To your success,
Tanya
