Is It Respectful to Wish Everyone a Merry Christmas as a Real Estate Agent?

You are probably getting ready for the holidays now that Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is just around the horizon. A lot of realtors send out holiday cards via postal mail, email, or social media. After all, sending holiday cards gives agents the chance to reconnect with former customers, get recommendations, and expand their contact list. The question of whether it is appropriate for agents to wish their clients a "Merry Christmas" is hotly contested. We've listed a few things to think about for your holiday planning below.


Contact Base Demographics


As a agent, you are familiar with your niche. Think about the holidays that your market's connections may observe. Many companies suffer from not being inclusive enough when they wish their customers "Merry Christmas," while other companies risk coming out as being overly politically correct when they say "Happy Holidays." These two companies don't comprehend their respective customer bases. The responses of some of your contacts to your holiday marketing are probably known to you as an agent.


Keep Former Clients in Mind


If you are aware that a former client observes a holiday that is not covered in your marketing campaign, keep them in mind. Send them a unique card or present. They'll be grateful that you considered them.


Your Personal Choice


Real estate is personal; your decision is personal. For weeks at a time, you work with one client at a time. They probably choose you because they like you to be their agent. If you want to wish your clients a Happy Hanukah, Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or Happy Kwanzaa, then so be it.
