ONCE YOU LOSS THE FEAR OF REJECTION, YOU SELL CONFIDENTLY

Rejection is the number one fear of real estate agents! Knowing how to handle rejection and overcoming those negative feelings are critical to having success in real estate.

The unfortunate part of rejection, is that it is a chronic and debilitating condition that ends many real estate careers. I remember clearly early in my career wanting to grow in the towel. Thankfully I challenged those fears.

Fear of rejection is a tricky thing, which there is no cure, no magic pill and no quick fix. It comes down to choice - to deal with it or bluntly said, get out of the business..

Fear is very powerful. It has the ability to turn a confident woman into an insecure one and it has a direct relationship to our sales performance. The great news is we weren't born with the fear of rejection, so anything learned can be unlearned! I see this everyday with my clients and help them overcome the fear that is holding them back.

And let's be honest, no matter what sales process you have in place, that irrational fear of rejection is a major obstacle to your success. The simple fact of picking up the phone, or meeting a new customer is gut wrenching for most agents. Many will self-sabotage because their fear has crippled them from moving through the sales process.

Rejection is tough to deal with, but it is a simply part of sales. Changing your thought (mindset) processes and developing a new and different perspective are the keys to overcoming the fear of rejection.

In caveman days, when a saber tooth tiger showed up, adrenaline flooded the body as a

protection mechanism and was extremely useful when you needed to fight, but not when you’re making sales calls or meeting new customers. As soon as you identify the mental programming that lies at the core of your fear, you can begin to question it, challenge it and find experiences that contradict it.

Unmanaged fear destroys success and great real estate agents aggressively work to eliminate fear. The only limits to your sales success are the ones you impose on yourself. The competition is in your own mind. When you do what you fear; the fear fades away and success appears.

How you handle rejection is simply a matter of mindset. Remember, every real estate agent gets rejected, every one of them.
